One time, my friend, Yukio, took me to a Buddhist Temple in Marin County California near Muir Woods. It was an incredibly beautiful location. At the end of a morning ritual and sermon, the monks invited each of us into the temple to sit on a small pillow and meditate for 40 minutes. OMG that was sheer torture for me. My back started to itch. Then my foot fell asleep. I couldn’t stop my mind from wandering and essentially felt nothing short of relief when the session ended and we were allowed to leave.
Though this form of meditation may have wonderful benefits, it is not the right method for me. I want to change my inner world so that my outer world reflects what I am feeling! So which kind of meditation will allow me to do that?
When we think about meditation, we often think of either lying on the bed with eyes closed to relax from a hectic day or we think of a yogi sitting in a lotus position chanting. Even the dictionary defines meditation as something you do to relax your mind. All these forms have their benefits, but, if you truly want to take charge of your life, Conscious Meditation is the way to go!
So, what do I mean by Conscious Meditation? I’m going to explain it in more detail in other sections, but essentially it is about relaxing your body and mind, similar to other forms of meditation (and hypnosis), while staying alert enough so that you can direct and control what you are experiencing. What I experienced at the Buddhist Temple is often referred to as Transcendental Meditation. I know many people who are successful using it. It is essentially disciplining yourself to the point that your mind is completely clear. The goal, as I understand it, is to think nothing. People who study this form work for years to get to a place where they are able to totally clear their mind and are able to stay in that state for hours at a time.
Conscious Meditation is similar from the standpoint that you have to get totally relaxed in both body and mind, but in Conscious Meditation you experience stepping outside of your current space and time so you can experience everything that lies beyond it. In Conscious Meditation, you access your subconscious and unconscious minds using the power of your imagination.
Imagination has been downplayed and discounted for centuries. Often, we hear people say “Oh, that’s just your imagination” as though it has no value at all which is absolutely untrue. Imagination is one of our most powerful resources. In fact, we are all using it all the time. Without imagination, you would be unable to form new ideas or images or concepts. You would be unable to sense or know of places, persons or things not in your present reality. Without imagination, you would be unable to create anything new. You would not be resourceful nor inventive. In fact, without imagination, there would be nothing to look forward to and nothing to inspire you. Imagination is something we all use, but since it is a feminine energy, it has been ignored and devalued just like anything else feminine in a chauvinistic world.
Albert Einstein used his imagination to discover time and ultimately develop his theory of relativity that has proven to be amazingly accurate and has changed the way we view the physics of our world.
"I am enough of the artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”
When we use the power of our imagination in the meditative state, we have the ability to access parts of the mind and of consciousness that we cannot do in any other way.
Perhaps you remember your dreams at night and, if so, you probably remember journeys to all kinds of amazing places. Because there is no time, you can be in Paris one moment and then turn the corner and find yourself on a tropical beach. Perhaps you are in an old house or a skyscraper redecorating it with your deceased grandmother or some famous person from history. There is no limitation to these explorations as anything is possible and often the unbelievable does happen. In Conscious Meditation you can do the same, except now you are directing the story. In this type of meditation, you are moving with the flow, experiencing what your subconscious sends to you at your request and then guiding the outcome. Such meditations are fueled by your imagination and guided by your desires.
Can you imagine what you can do when you are using these tools to create what you want in your life? Hypnotherapists call it hypnotherapy others call it visualization and I call it meditation which is defined as:
“a practice where an individual uses a technique, such as focusing their mind on a particular object, thought or activity, to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state.”
It doesn’t really matter what you call it. It is the goal that makes it unique. In Transcendental Meditation you are clearing your mind seeking a deep state of inner calm and ultimate enlightenment. In traditional hypnosis, the process involves implanting suggestions in a deeply relaxed state. In visualization, you are imagining things you want to create such as seeing yourself in a new car, or holding a lottery check or living in your dream house. In Conscious Meditation, we can combine all of these things and also do more. You can discover events from your past that you may not consciously remember. You can literally travel into events of your past and change the experience. In meditation, you step outside of your current space and time and travel meditatively into another space and time to become aware of what happened and to alter the experiences that may still be hindering you. You can release emotions that have haunted you. You can heal illnesses, implant new memories, discover and change limiting beliefs. You can even travel to the future and design what you want your future to hold.
All of this sounds exciting but it is even more so when you experience it for yourself. Each of the meditations offered on this site are designed to accomplish change at some level. You can plant suggestions of how amazing you are, how powerful, how courageous, how triumphant in the series called “From Cocoon to Butterfly.” This is a program that involves receiving 31 meditations – one each day for 31 days to open your subconscious mind and receive the messages at a deep relaxed level. Click here to access this wonderful program.
You can literally travel back in time to your childhood and rescue that little boy or little girl that you once were. You can heal their reality or give them a completely new one and when you do, the “you” in the present experiences the difference. As a metaphysician you should already know that there really is no space or time. It is all illusion and thus, you can journey into other experiences, just like moving from one theatre to another to experience a different movie. All of this is available through meditation.
Money Magic is an online course that also involves 30 lessons and exercises to help you discover and release whatever holds you back from achieving great wealth. In this program there are multiple meditations as well as a daily visualizations where you walk through a multi-million dollar mansion visualizing the details of living in this beautiful home. Your ability to step out of your current time and space is a remarkable ability that you can do easily and effortlessly. You do this by quieting your conscious mind so that both your subconscious and your unconscious minds can show you what is operating beneath the surface and ultimately creating all that you experience daily in your life. Every occurrence, event, experience in your life – even those that occur while you are sleeping – are instantly recorded by your subconscious mind. In addition to the memory of these experiences, it is also recording the feelings you feel as a result of each experience and any beliefs you form. Sometimes we give messages to our subconscious in the midst of challenging or painful experiences and those messages continue to operate in our lives years later. Such messages include such things as “I don’t deserve to be happy.” “I’m so stupid.” “What have I done? I’m a terrible person.”
We may not remember ever making such statements or may not be aware that by doing so we are giving instructions to the subconscious, but such messages are actually directions that the subconscious takes in and follows until we discover and ultimately change them. You change them meditatively. Through meditation you can change anything.
Here’s an excerpt from one of the first books I ever read on metaphysics called “Handbook to Higher Consciousness” which describes what happens in painful or emotional events:
“Consciousness focusing is based on the fact that your emotional programming is established by whatever you tell yourself with strong feelings when you are in pain and suffering. Actually, you’ve been using Consciousness Focusing all of your life. Perhaps when you were a young child you stuck your finger into a light bulb socket and received an electric shock. You instantly withdrew your finger in pain and told yourself that the light bulb socket was the cause of the pain.
When people are emotionally upset and they continually tell themselves alienating things, they program themselves directly into neurosis or psychosis. When you are emotionally upset and use this opportunity to program yourself with the positive ways of living love, you wipe out vulnerability you programmed in the past.”
Meditation is a powerful way to reprogram your past. You can find the incidents in your past that are still causing you grief in your present. You can release anger, hurt, pain and fear and gain an incredible sense of freedom as you release these emotions and gain a wisdom and insight that you can only find by going inward.
If you want to create magic in your life, you need to take charge of your inner world and the only way to do that is to slip into a relaxed meditative state and use your conscious mind to alter previous programs, change beliefs and release restricting emotions. Each time you do this, you free yourself more and more until you are operating on a whole new level of happiness and serenity.
Meditation is the tool that allows you to escape your present time and space. It is the tool that allows the consciousness that you are to truly take charge of what is going on in your physical world. Through Conscious Meditation, you can travel anywhere, anytime, any place and you can change any thing!
I think you will also find that this form of meditation provides all the things that other methods offer and more. You will feel relaxed and centered because that is what you are doing physically. You can also open to receive messages from your guides, counselors and other “unseen” friends. You can reprogram your subconscious by implanting new messages to override the old, self-defeating ones. And you can also travel back in time or forward in time and, by choice, alter and change whatever is there. This obviously puts tremendous power in your hands to take charge of your life. Not only can you heal whatever is inside of you that may be wounded or broken, but you can also start to consciously create success in all you do.
I believe in intuitions and inspirations. I sometimes feel that I am right. I do not know that I am… [but] I would have been surprised if I had been wrong.
